Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church
|
Welcome...
Julia A. Porter Church has a wide variety of ministry & missions for
children, youth, young adults, and older adults. There is a busy
Wednesday every week, beginning at 6:00 pm with supper,
children and youth ministry, and a time of prayer and Bible study
for adults of all ages.
This church moves through each calendar year with certain
“mission projects” in mind. Shoebox 405 Mexico Mission is when
an assembly line of children, youth, and adults pack 4,000 boxes
for Christmas to send to the children in Mexico. Also, about 40-50
families in the Porterdale Community receive presents and a
Secret Santa Christmas party in December.
In between there are Prayer Retreats, Open Air Revival (on the
Porterdale ballfield) in June, and a walk for Missions around Stone
Mountain. In addition Julia A. Porter participates in Relay for Life,
the Refuge Pregnancy Crisis Center, and a variety of other local
and foreign missions.
Having served as Pastor for 30+ years, Julia A. Porter Church is one
of those churches that if I were not the Pastor, I would choose this
church for me and my family.
In His Grace,
Pastor James A. Moore
